FAQ

Straight answers for CPG founders, brand managers, and boutique counsel considering Wet Ink Weekly ($29/mo). Not legal adviceIs this legal advice?

What do I get?

One Monday email with two sections in the same message: an editorial top-picks skim (~12–20 marks) plus the full week’s F&B filings from that pull — mark, serial (links to TSDR), filing date, owner, and classes. No member web app; the inbox is the product. Package list: What’s in the Monday email. See a public excerpt of real serials or the sample page.

Which classes are covered?

Nice classes 029, 030, 031, 032, 033, and 043 — food, beverages, and related food/drink services. Not apparel-only, tech, or a general-purpose watch across all classes. More detail: Coverage and How we pick.

When do emails go out?

Mondays (U.S. pipeline). Each send covers that week’s class-filtered pull of new U.S. federal applications. Timing can slip if USPTO index lag or ops hiccups — we still aim for a once-weekly Monday habit.

When do I get the first email?

After Stripe checkout you get a short welcome from [email protected] confirming you’re on the list (whitelist that address). The paid digest itself is the Monday send — if you subscribe mid-week, your first full digest is the next Monday. Same timing is spelled out on What you get.

How do serials and TSDR work?

Every row includes a USPTO serial number. Click it to open TSDR (Trademark Status & Document Retrieval) for that application — status, goods/services, owner, and documents. Wet Ink is the skim; TSDR remains the source of truth. Public data can lag or omit fields; never treat a digest row as clearance.

How is this different from watching TSDR myself?

TSDR is excellent for a serial you already know. It is a poor primary tool for “what new F&B names filed this week?” That needs a search/bulk pull first. Wet Ink does the weekly class filter + editorial skim so you don’t rebuild it by hand. Honest tradeoffs: Weekly digest vs watching TSDR.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel anytime via Stripe (receipt / customer portal). Step-by-step: Billing & cancel. No long-term lock-in. Support: [email protected].

Isn’t USPTO data free? Why pay?

Yes — you can DIY on USPTO search / TSDR / the Official Gazette. Wet Ink packages a weekly F&B class skim as a curated email (top picks + full week list) so you don’t rebuild the filter and editorial pass yourself every Monday.

What don’t I get?

No attorney advice; no full similarity / “watch my mark” monitoring; no global watch, web/social scans, or filing services; no invented serials. Lag and noise happen on public indexes — verify on TSDR.
